Lancaster promotes juvenile diabetes awareness

Lancaster will promote awareness of juvenile diabetes on an event filled Sunday coming up in June. The day – Sunday, 2 June 2013 – will begin with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) Lancaster Walk to Cure Diabetes that afternoon. That evening the Lancaster Barnstormers – Lancaster’s own minor league baseball team – will host a Juvenile Diabetes Awareness Night.

The JDRF walk is a great way to show your support for all those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and to raise funds for JDRF, which is the leading global organization focused on T1D research. The goal for the Lancaster walk is $86,000 this year and is one of several statewide.

The Lancaster Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held at the Clipper Magazine Stadium. Registration will start at 2:30 p.m. The two mile walk is slated for a 4 p.m. step off and is expected to run until 5 p.m.
