Each year for the past 34 years, the Jefferson Awards for Public Service celebrate and honor remarkable volunteers each year. The Jefferson Awards are made possible through the United Way, WGAL, and PSECU. This year Lancaster County’s Melodie Dearolf will be among those recognized at a local award celebration on Monday, 4 November.

She has also begun occasional volunteering with North Star Initiative against human trafficking.
Dearolf is also the Social Outreach Director in her church and continues to serve the local community and beyond by coordinating ways for church members to help those in need.
