Lancaster City Shopping Goes Green with Gusto

It is becoming more evident that the desire for a green life style is no longer reserved for the eccentric hippie-types and celebrities with an endless wealth source. An eco-conscious way of life has moved into commonplace acceptance.

With this growing demand, many Central Pennsylvania cities are interested in “going green”. Lancaster, Pa. has embraced the idea with rigor and, well, has gone green. With gusto!

Situated in what is referred to as “Amish Country”, surrounded by bountiful farmlands and an appreciation for a slower lifestyle, the desire to live a little gentler on the Earth is not a far stretch for this city of just under 60 thousand residents.

But the way in which the city’s business owners have brought this change to the community is anything but traditional. The emergence of several eco-friendly boutiques has made a green lifestyle even easier, providing convenient and unique alternatives to grocery shopping to home design and even the way we buy everyday household items.

Fresco Green Scene

Fresco Green Scene was developed on the idea of bringing safer, healthier, eco-conscious products into the daily lives of community and operates on their motto to “provide solutions, not simply sell products”.

The store features affordable household detergents and cleaning supplies, dinner and kitchen ware, gifts and accessories and personal and body care items for greenies of every age – from baby to adult.

Fresco Green Scene is also the city’s first provider of a true personal and home care product innovation - re-fillable stations.

The stations drastically reduce waste by allowing users to fill and refill empty containers with shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps, laundry detergents and common household cleaners. Containers are available for purchase and “BYOB” service is welcomed as well.

Fresco Green Scene is located just off Lancaster’s Gallery Row on the first floor of 104 West Chestnut Street
