Tonight is “Meet the Doulas” night at the Library. Tonight is a Question & Answer night session as childbirth educators and fellow expecting parents will be available to answer questions concerning lactation, parenting, child birth and breastfeeding. The Lancaster Public Library is located at 125 North Duke Street. This is a free event.

The School District of Lancaster announces a School Improvement Night and a PTO Meeting at 6 p.m. at Ross Elementary, 840 North Queen Street. The water main break has been fixed at Wharton Elementary School.

The Republican Party of Lancaster County is hosting a reception this evening for Clerk of Courts Josh Parsons at The Hamilton Club. The reception will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. RSVP by email to friendsofjoshparsons@gmail.com.

Tickets are now on sale for many exciting events at the Ware Center, North Prince Street. Upcoming events include: Allegro Chamber Orchestra on 23 January; a play titled “Humble Honor Witness to Gettysburg” on 25 January; An Evening of Chamber Music on 31 January; the FamFunFest on 1 February; and the day long Red Rose & Shamrock Irish Music Festival on Saturday, 8 February.

This week, 13 – 17 January, is Tax Identity Theft Awareness Week. Lt. Timothy Frey of the Lancaster City Police (LCPD) issued a release this morning encouraging residents to be aware. Every year, LCPD receives numerous reports from citizens who find out that their tax returns have already been filed fraudulently. Lancaster City Police is asking anyone with information regarding the shooting of a woman last night to come forward. A 29 year old woman, standing outside her West Strawberry Street home, was shot in the left arm as a car drove past. Readers with information are asked to call the Police at 717-735-3300.
