Yesterday’s storm caused the expected delays and cancellations. Trash collection was suspended yesterday. As such, Penn Waste will operate on a delayed holiday schedule for the remainder of the week. Lancaster City Council committee meetings were also cancelled. They have been rescheduled for Monday, 10 February at 6 pm. PPL Electric Utilities is reporting no outages. All outages have been restored.
The School District of Lancaster is operating under a two hour delay today. Three of the schools will hold PTO/PAC Meetings this evening. They are Wheatland Middle School (5:30 p.m.), Fulton Elementary School (6 p.m.) and Martin Elementary School (7 p.m.). Martin Elementary School will also hold a Parent Principal Coffee at 6:30 p.m. Wharton Elementary has a scheduled Science Fair today.
Mary Kate McDevitt is the featured artist for PCA&D’s Artist Talk on 4 February. McDevitt is a graphic designer, and an illustrator. Her impressive client list includes Better Homes & Gardens, Everyday with Rachel Ray, Sesame Street and Nintendo. McDevitt currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She did work as a designer for two years here in Lancaster. She’ll return to Lancaster tonight for a 4 p.m. Talk in the PCA&D Atrium. Admission, as always, is free and open to the public.
The Library offers Legos & More as well as a Teen Gaming session tonight. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.
Over 30 paintings and drawings by the late Robert Cunningham (1924-2010) will be on display at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) from 10 January through 28 February. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.
Ruth Bernard, David Brumbach and Michael Allen are the three featured artists currently at Lancaster Galleries. The exhibit continues through Saturday, 15 February. The Gallery is located at 34 North Water Street.
Lancaster Central Market is open today. Stock up for the next wintery round! The Market is open until 4 p.m. today. The Goodie Shoppe however will be closed today.
Snow should begin sometime around 10 p.m. followed by ice. If you plan to head out tonight, do be careful whether you walk or drive, be prepared for slick roads and sidewalks. Another Winter Storm Warning will go into effect tonight at 10 p.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
