Today is the perfect – albeit cold – day to head over to Central Market. Stock up before the next round of storms. The Market is open until 4 p.m. today. A Winter Storm Watch now includes Lancaster. The Watch is in effect from late Wednesday through late Thursday. Models still vary on amounts but they all do seem to agree that we will get some snow, and it may be a heavy wet snow.

The United Way announces that today is 2-1-1 Day. The day recognizes the free, user-friendly phone number that serves 90% of America's population, and connects millions of Americans with critical resources, information and services. Finding meeting basic needs, like heating or utility assistance, emergency help, or to find the closest food bank, is a major service of 2-1-1. The United Way launced 2-1-1 almost 20 years ago as a free way to connect people with resources. For more information, please visit www.LiveUnitedLancaster.org

The Library offers Legos & More as well as a Teen Gaming session. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.

Arsenic and Old Lace is currently at the Fulton. Tonight’s show is at 7:30 p.m. The comedy runs through 16 February. The Fulton is located at 12 North Prince Street.

The Lancaster Road Runners Club (LRRC) will meet up Tuesday run at Long’s Park.

Lancaster General Hospital (LGH) Orthopedic Center is hosting a free Coaches Clinic next month but registrations are now open. The Clinic will be held on Saturday, 8 March from 7 a.m. to noon at the Stager Conference Center. John Troxell – Head Football Coach, Franklin & Marshall College, is the Keynote Speaker. The Clinic is designed for coaches and athletic trainers.

Valentine’s Day is this week already! Score twice with Flowers by Paulette! You could win a trip to the NBA Playoffs. If you send one of the participating bouquets, you could win a trip for four to a playoff game. Other prizes are also offered in this “Send and Score” sweepstakes. The florist offers same day delivery on most bouquets. It is a Teleflora shop, making your out of town deliveries smoother as well. The shop, located at 258 North Queen Street, is open today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Over 30 paintings and drawings by the late Robert Cunningham (1924-2010) will be on display at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) through 28 February. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.

Ruth Bernard, David Brumbach and Michael Allen are the three featured artists currently at Lancaster Galleries. The exhibit continues through Saturday, 15 February. The Gallery is located at 34 North Water Street.

It’s that time of year when Uncle Sam wants more money. The United Way of Lancaster County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program helps income eligible residents with free tax preparation. There will be 14 different VITA locations throughout the County. VITA also offers a “Do-It-Yourself” option – a free online program that files both federal and state tax returns at www.FreeTaxPrepLancaster.org. To schedule a free tax preparation appointment, residents should call 2-1-1.

Time is running out to get your tickets for the Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival this weekend. This is probably the area’s largest music festival! Featuring a variety of Blues, Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, Funk & Soul, Zydeco, Polka, Rock n'Roll, and Reggae, this Festival has something for everyone! The Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival will be 21 & 22 February. Five different venues throughout the City will host the various musicians on nine different stages.
