Lancaster City Police is asking anyone with information on yesterday’s shooting at Martin Luther King Elementary School to contact them. They are also seeking information regarding the shooting of a woman standing outside her West Strawberry Street home, earlier this week. Readers with information are asked to call the Police at 717-735-3300. The Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers can also be called at 800-322-1913. It is a busy day for the School District of Lancaster. Today is Literacy Night at Lafayette Elementary. It is also National History Day Competition at McCaskey East HS. There will also be a PTO Meeting at 6 p.m. at Buchannan Elementary and a Cultural Celebration Dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Elementary.

Lancaster Young Professionals will hold a New Member Meet and Greet at 6 p.m. tonight at Annie Bailey’s, 28 East King Street. The event leads into the Third Thursday Networking Mixer from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The F&M Players will perform "Into the Woods"16 – 18 January in the Schnader Theater at the Roschell Performing Arts Center. The play is based on a book by F&M '71 alum James Lapine.

Getting organized is one ask on most people’s New Year Resolution list. Get some practical free advice on home management and organization at the Library at 6 p.m. Thursday. The session, led by Dawnell Yoder and Diane Baker of Shape Up Your Space is open to those 18 and older. Register online here. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.

Tickets are now on sale for many exciting events at the Ware Center, North Prince Street. Upcoming events include: Allegro Chamber Orchestra on 23 January; a play titled “Humble Honor Witness to Gettysburg” on 25 January; An Evening of Chamber Music on 31 January; the FamFunFest on 1 February; and the day long Red Rose & Shamrock Irish Music Festival on Saturday, 8 February.

This week is Tax Identity Theft Awareness Week. Lancaster City Police (LCPD) is encouraging residents to be aware. Every year, LCPD receives numerous reports from citizens who find out that their tax returns have already been filed fraudulently. Snow is once again creeping into our local forecast. The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting a chance of snow showers today, Friday and Saturday.
