PPL Electric is currently (6:30 a.m.) reporting 153 customers without electric in Lancaster County. The majority of those without power are in West Lampeter Township. There are currently no reported outages in Lancaster City. To report or check on an outage, go to PPL Electric online or call 800-342-5775.

In the wake of yesterday’s winter mix of snow and ice, many churches and other venues have already cancelled Sunday activities. WGAL lists many of the closings on their site. If you do travel today, be careful and a lot extra time. Snow is back in the forecast late Monday night/Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The current expectation is a chance of snow showers.

Cylo is selling trees today. Cylo’s Holiday Tree Farm will be open at the Clipper Stadium from noon to 5 p.m. The Lancaster Barnstormer’s team store will also be open.

Sunday Supper at Tellus360 is sold out tonight. Dinner is by The Scarlet Runner. It will be held at Tellus360, 24 East King Street. Seating is limited to 60 so reservations are strongly suggested. A cash bar will be available. A reception is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with dinner seating at 6 p.m. Next month’s dinner is scheduled for Sunday, 19 January.

Saturday was the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting. Residents of Newtown asked for privacy yesterday to mourn and remember loved ones lost in peace and as a community. On Friday, 18 year old Karl Pierson shot a fellow classmate at the Arapahoe High School in Littleton, Colorado. Pierson took a shotgun to school seeking out a teacher. He was found deceased with an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound.

A Japanese diplomat was wounded when armed men tried to kidnap him in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa on Sunday morning, reports CNN.

Industry Minister Mehdi Jomaa has been named the new Prime Minister of Tunisia, reports BBC.

Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said his country will continue nuclear negotiations with world powers, according to the Associated Press.

Nelson Mandela has been laid to rest in his childhood village of Qunu.
