Lancaster City Morning Buzz: Saturday, 8 March

Today will conclude the Latino Arts Festival at the Ware Center. At 2 p.m. the Ware Center will present a film titled, “La Camioneta.” The general admission for the film is $7. “Salsa Bajo Las Estrellas” will conclude the Festival, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dance the evening away with Café con Pan, a band with varied musical roots. Tickets are $15 for general admission for this last segment. The festival, which began Thursday, is a three day long celebration of the Latino culture. The Ware Center is located at 42 North Prince Street.

“Folklore” will be the featured exhibit at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) through 18 April. The contemporary works of art by Amy Cutler, Clare Grill, Clare Rojas and others will be featured during the month long exhibit. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.

Single game tickets for the Lancaster Barnstormers are now available. Stop by Clipper Stadium on Prince Street today to get your tickets. The home opener is scheduled for 1 May.

Try a yoga session at Tellus360, 24 E King Street, at 9:30 a.m.

Lancaster General Hospital will hold a Coaches Clinic Saturday, 8 March from 7 a.m. to noon at the Stager Conference Center. Sports techniques and game strategy will be discussed. The keynote speaker will be John Troxell. Troxell is the Head Football Coach for F&M College.

The Library holds regular Literacy Classes for those wishing to communicate better in English. Saturday classes are at 11 a.m. Classes are free but do require registration. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.

The Sweet Pea Project will hold a poetic gathering at the Mulberry Art Studios on Saturday. The gathering will celebrate a new book of Stephanie Paige Cole and Catherine Bayly. The book is titled “to longer on hot coals: collected poetic works from grieving women writers.” The Studio is located at 19-21 North Mulberry Street.

The Slackwater News & the Kalob Griffin Band will perform at Tellus360 tonight. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are just $5 at the door. Tellus360 is located at 24 East King Street.

Treat yourself today with a Peaches & Cream cupcake from Lancaster Cupcake’s bakery and cupcake truck. The truck will be open today 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other featured flavors are London Fog and Blueberry Buckle.
