Today Lancaster celebrates St. Paddy’s Day at the first – and hopefully annual – King Street Seisiún. King Street will be closed Penn Square to Duke Street, shutting down the zero block for this much anticipated Irish block party. The King Street Seisiún will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the zero block of East King Street, in which both Irish pubs are located. Wear your green and come out for music and dancing, and food and plenty to drink! The event will benefit The Junior League of Lancaster, MOOSE, Music For Everyone and VisionCorps.

You do not have to wait until the afternoon to come out! Lancaster Central Market is open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tellus360 is opening its doors at 11 a.m. for a special traditional Irish breakfast, followed by Irish Karaoke at noon.

The Roaring Brook Market will serve “green eggs and ham” all day Saturday. This is in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday (2 March) and St. Patrick’s Day (17 March). Enjoy an egg and cheese sandwich with pureed spinach! Roaring Brook Market is located at 155 East King Street.

The Barren Wells will perform at Tellus360 at 5 p.m. This performance is separate from the King Street Seisiún activities and has no cover charge. At 9 p.m., after the Seisiún, the Kilmaine Saints will perform at Tellus360.

The Jammin’ Divas, traditional and contemporary original folk music group, will perform at the Ware Center this evening. The Divas are Aoife Clancy, Nicole Zuraitis, Kath Buckell and Hadar Noiberg. The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved at www.artsmu.com. The Ware Center is located at 42 North Prince Street.

The Junior League of Lancaster will hold its ninth-annual Run 4 Luck today. The 5K event benefits various community projects. The walk/run begins and ends at Lancaster County Day School, 725 Hamilton Rd., at 9:30 a.m. It will be held rain or shine.

It’s Tavern Night at the Rock Ford Plantation. Enjoy Colonial-era food, drink, games and entertainment at Rock Ford Plantation, 881 Rockford Road. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are required. For more information, call 717-392-7223.

"Young Frankenstein" will be performed this month at the Fulton Theatre . Tickets range from $25 to $35. Tonight’s performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

QuiltWeek concludes today. This year the American Quilter’s Society is holding its annual Quilt at the Lancaster Convention Center. The show runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

“Folklore” will be the featured exhibit at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) through 18 April. The contemporary works of art by Amy Cutler, Clare Grill, Clare Rojas and others will be featured during the month long exhibit. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.

Spring is right around the corner. Rachel’s Café & Creperie has opened up its deck. Rachel’s is located at 201 West Walnut Street. Carmen & David’s Creamery began its spring hours this week. The Creamery is located at 25 North Prince Street. Rita’s has opened. Spring hours are noon to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and noon to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The first day of Spring is 20 March and as usual that means it will be Free Ice Day! Rita’s is located at 1951 Lincoln Highway East, next to Amelia’s Grocery Store.

Single game tickets for the Lancaster Barnstormers are now available. Stop by Clipper Stadium on Prince Street today to get your tickets. The home opener is scheduled for 1 May.
