Many Lancastrians may head up to Harrisburg today for the 98th Pennsylvania Farm Show. The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation and runs through Saturday, 11 January. It is held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. Admission is free and parking is $10. Visit www.farmshow.state.pa.us for details.
The United Way is looking for over 100 volunteers. United Way’s MLK Day of Service provides opportunities to respond to Dr. King’s call to service. There are 13 projects available throughout Lancaster County. A flood watch is in effect today for several counties, including Lancaster. Today’s expected heavy rainfall is only part of the reason. The ice jamming on the Susquehanna River, while beautiful, could add to the area floods. The flood watch is in effect through 7 p.m. Sunday, 12 January.
