Lancaster City Morning Buzz: Monday, 3 March

Lancaster woke up to snow again this morning, causing many delays across the City and County. The School District of Lancaster and Lancaster Country Day School are on a two hour delay. The Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) will open at 10 a.m. and is using an abbreviated schedule today. Amtrak is operating on a modified winter schedule. Red Rose Transit is operating normally with one exception. The Sector 5 bus is on a two hour delay.

The Lancaster Barnstormers are looking for host families. If you are interested in hosting a ballplayer for the season, click here. Applications are due by next Sunday, 9 March.

“Folklore” will be the featured exhibit at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) through 18 April. The contemporary works of art by Amy Cutler, Clare Grill, Clare Rojas and others will be featured during the month long exhibit. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.

The public is invited to a lecture this evening at F&M on “Bush, Obama, and the Bankers.” The 7 p.m. lecture will be held in the Roschel Performing Arts Center Theatre. The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Economics and the Will Lyons Lecture Fund.

Knitting can be a relaxing craft. Learn how to knit at the Library! This free session is held every Monday at 6:30 p.m. and is for children and teens. Classes are free but do require registration. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.

Joe Fletcher, Ron Gallo and Dominic Billet will perform Monday night at The Fridge. The Fridge will open at 6:30 p.m. for a 21+ only crowd, offering libations, pizza and live music on Monday. The show is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the door.

Mark your calendars now for the African American History Conference on 5 April. The Conference is sponsored by the African American Historical Society of South Central Pennsylvania and will be held at the Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology, 750 East King Street.
