Lancaster City Morning Buzz: Lancaster shops offer special hours

After today, there is only one more day until Christmas. No despair! Many Lancaster shops, galleries and cafes have special hours this week to help you get your Christmas shopping done before the big day arrives. Free two-hour metered parking continues this week – through Christmas – courtesy of the Lancaster Parking Authority.

While driving through the City today, be alert for students walking to school. The School District of Lancaster does have school today. There is no school, and district offices are closed, from 24 December through 1 January for the holidays.

Be sure to stop by Lancaster City Alliance offices for your Downtown Dollars before hitting the stores today. Call ahead and have your tickets waiting. The number there is 717-394-0783.

BUiLDiNG CHARACTER will be open today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Hip Santa will be there from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Be sure to get your visit in before he heads back to the North Pole! The Lemon Street Market, located at 241 West Lemon Street, will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Flowers by Paulette is open today as well. The florist is located at 258 North Queen Street. Flowers always make a great gift choice, especially when they are Flowers by Paulette!

Gallery Row will be active today as several galleries will be open today and tomorrow for your last minute shipping. Be sure to visit Christiane David Gallery, CityFolk, Franz Fox Studios & Gallery, Freiman Stoltzfus Gallery, Liz Hess Gallery, Mio Studio and the Red Raven Art Company.

While you are Downtown today, treat yourself to a show at the Fulton. Mary Poppins is at the Fulton Theater through 29 December. The Fulton is located at 12 N. Prince Street. For show times, and to reserve your tickets, go to www.thefulton.org.

After a day of shopping, relax at Tellus360. Enjoy a yoga session tonight at Tellus360, 24 E King Street. Classes this week are at 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Be sure to grab your umbrella before heading out this morning, Lancaster. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts a high of near 54 today with rain throughout most of the day.

The weather should clear up though in time for The Dirk Quinn Band and Mark DeRosa. They will perform at Tellus360 tonight (Monday, 23 December) at 8 p.m. There is a cover charge of $5. Tellus360 is located at 22 East King Street.
