Lancaster City Morning Buzz: It's Music Friday

It’s Music Friday! Many venues – galleries, cafes, clubs, bars and other businesses – will have various musical artists. Similar to First Friday, with different styles of arts, Music Friday offers various genres.

Tellus360 is teaming up this year team up with MOOSE, Series 42 and Music For Everyone on Music Friday. Colombian hill country blues pioneer Carlos Elliot Jr. and The Cornlickers will play to all ages tonight. Also playing is the Americana rockers Driftwood. The concerts start at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. There is a cover charge of $10. Tellus360 is located at 22 East King Street. Next door, Sunset Stripped will perform at Annie Bailey’s Irish Pub & Restaurant.

The Community Room on King is holding its Music Friday Coffeehouse & Open Mic night Friday. Admission is by donation. The Community Room on King is located at 1006 West King Street.

Gangstagrass will perform at 8 p.m. at the Chameleon Club, 223 North Water Street. The Jason Newman Trio will perform at 7 p.m. at the Belvedere Inn, 402 North Queen Street. The Pale Barn Ghosts will perform at 10 p.m. at the Lancaster Dispensing Company, 33-35 North Market Street. The Village Nightclub will hold its regular Friday Night Dance Party. The Village is located at 205 North Christian Street.

The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra will perform an 18th-century-style performance of Mozart this week. The performances will be 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be two performances, 3 and 8 p.m., on Saturday. They will be at the Fulton Opera House, 12 N. Prince Street.

The F&M Players will perform "Into the Woods"16 – 18 January in the Schnader Theater at the Roschell Performing Arts Center. The play is based on a book by F&M '71 alum James Lapine.

The School District of Lancaster will celebrate Martin Luther King’s legacy today at the King Elementary School.

Garden Party Soapworks will offer free hand massages at tonight's Ladies Night Out at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER! There will also be free seat treats and free drink samples. Ladies Night Out runs 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 342 North Queen Street rear.

Tickets are now on sale for many exciting events at the Ware Center, North Prince Street. Upcoming events include: Allegro Chamber Orchestra on 23 January; a play titled “Humble Honor Witness to Gettysburg” on 25 January; An Evening of Chamber Music on 31 January; the FamFunFest on 1 February; and the day long Red Rose & Shamrock Irish Music Festival on Saturday, 8 February.
