Lancaster City Morning Buzz: It's Deadline Day

It’s deadline day. Taxes are due today and so are applications for the Lancaster County Camp Cadet. Lancaster County youth, ages 11 to 13, are encouraged to apply for Camp Cadet. The camp runs 10 – 15 August by the PA State Police (PSP). This free week long camp offers youth an overnight camping experience focusing on discipline, self-esteem and teamwork. Applications are due today. The camp is a great opportunity for youth to learn about and work with law enforcement. For more information, go to www.campcadetoflancastercounty.com.

Do you like to play with Legos? The Lancaster Public Library offers Legos & More as well as a Teen Gaming session on Tuesday evenings. On Tuesdays and Saturdays the Library holds regular Literacy Classes for those wishing to communicate better in English. Tuesday classes are at 1 p.m. Classes are free but do require registration. The Library is located at 125 North Duke Street.

Tellus360 will host a Cooking Meditation Workshop from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy a more holistic and healthy approach to food.

Lancaster Public Works is continuing the flushing of the water distribution system. The flushing will be done from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through 30 May. If your water appears cloudy, let it run for a moment. If the problem continues, call the Water Quality Lab at 717-291-4818.

The Fulton Theatre will present Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story next week! The official opening night performance is Thursday, 24 April at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday will be the Fig Preview Night and Tuesday is the “pay what you will night”. Thunderstorms are possible today, according to the National Weather Service. The rain will continue throughout the day and into the night. There is a slight possibility that the rain may change over later tonight to snow showers. A Freeze Warning has already been issued for tomorrow morning. It is in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday.
