Lancaster City Morning Buzz: Holiday entertainment

Brunch is a must on Sundays! Commonwealth on Queen is serving brunch today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The stylish café is located at 301 North Queen Street. Enjoy breakfast before taking in the many holiday entertainment venues the City has to offer today.

There is something special about train displays around the Christmas holidays. The model train display is a huge annual holiday train and village display held in the Citizens Bank Building on Penn Square. When you enter the building, do not enter the bank. But rather take the elevator to the second floor. There is no set admission fee but donations are appreciated. The display will continue today from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Take in a show while you are Downtown today. Mary Poppins is also at the Fulton Theater through 29 December. The Fulton is located at 12 N. Prince Street. For show times, and to reserve your tickets, go to

The Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street, will host Next Generation Concert, presented by Jazz in the Sky. The 5 p.m. concert costs $20. For tickets, click here or call 717-871-2308.

St. James Episcopal Church, Duke & Orange Streets, presents KHORIKOS. Enjoy a stunning performance of sacred Christmas music. Works are sung, not just in English, but also Latin and French. Tickets are $15 for adults. Students and children are $5.

Don’t have your tree yet? Today is the last day for Cylo’s Holiday Tree Farm. Get your fresh cut Douglas and Frazier firs, priced under $40, from Clipper Magazine Stadium’s front parking lot. The trees will be available today noon to 5 p.m. The Barnstormers’ team store will also be open, offering seasonal merchandise, stadium gift cards and special holiday ticket packages.

Be sure to grab your umbrella before heading out this morning, Lancaster. There may not be any snow in the immediate forecast but Lancaster is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch this morning. The Watch is in effect until 10 a.m. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts a high of near 69 today with rain throughout the day. Some storms may produce damaging winds. The storms are expected to continue through tonight. Tomorrow we will see showers.
