All the fixings for your Christmas meal will be distributed this morning at the Clipper Magazine Stadium. The distribution, which begins at 8 a.m., is through the Lancaster County Project for the Needy (LCPN). There will NOT be any distribution of boxed meals at the Water Street Rescue Mission this year.
The boxed meals will include a turkey, potatoes, a vegetable, fruit, eggs, cranberry sauce and dessert. Distributions will continue while boxed meals last and are provided on a first come first serve basis. There is no pre screening. As of 5:30 a.m. this morning, a line had already formed and was growing. LCPN expects to give out over 2,600 meals this morning. Clipper Stadium is located at 650 North Prince Street.
Many Lancaster shops, galleries and cafes have special hours today to help you get your Christmas shopping done. Free two-hour metered parking continues this week – through Christmas – courtesy of the Lancaster Parking Authority.
The School District of Lancaster does have school today. There is no school, and district offices are closed, from 24 December through 1 January for the holidays.
After a day of shopping, procrastinators can relax at Tellus360, 24 E King Street. Tellus360 welcomes those who waited for “Whiskey for those who waited” today. The store today will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., during which time Irish coffees will be served to those of age.
