The City of Lancaster is currently flushing hydrants in the distribution system. The flushing will continue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., today (Monday, 16 September) through Friday, 20 September. The flushing may cause a temporary cloudiness in the water. It may also cause a temporary reduction in water pressure.
Hydrant flushing is necessary from time to time to ensure that adequate flow and pressure is available. The flushing also removes any sediment that has settled in the piping.
If you experience cloudy water, please report by calling the Water Quality Laboratory at 717-291-4818, Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. At all other times, please call the Water Emergency number at 717-291-4816.
