St. Patrick’s Day will be more like a week long celebration in Lancaster this year. Many pubs and cafes are celebrating Friday through Monday; others have already started! The first King Street Seisiún will be celebrated this year. Tellus360 and Annie Bailey’s Irish Pub, together with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOOSE), is hosting Lancaster’s first Irish block party.
Last night Colebrook Road kicked off the week long festivities at Tellus360. Tröegs beers flowed as Colebrook Road’s great bluegrass music filled the popular venue.
Thursday, 13 March
Character’s Pub will hold an Irish Whiskey Dinner on Thursday. Chef Meghan is preparing four extraordinary courses. The cost will be $45 per person (does not include tax or gratuity). Reservations are required. To reserve your space, call 717-824-3135. The dinner will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, 15 March
The King Street Seisiún will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the zero block of East King Street, in which both Irish pubs are located. The festival includes Irish music of course. The Kilmaine Saints, The Ogham Stones and Seasons are slated to perform. The Hooley School of Irish Dance will perform. There will be a special ticketed area for those 21 and older. Tickets are sold out for the drinking area but both pubs will be open throughout the day. The event will benefit The Junior League of Lancaster, MOOSE, Music For Everyone and VisionCorps.
At 5 p.m., separate to the Seisiún, The Barren Wells will perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Tellus360. There is no cover charge for this folk rock band.
The Roaring Brook Market will serve “green eggs and ham” all day Saturday. This is in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday (2 March) and St. Patrick’s Day (17 March). Enjoy an egg and cheese sandwich with pureed spinach! Roaring Brook Market is located at 155 East King Street.
Sunday, 16 March
Solas will perform Sunday at Tellus360. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the band takes the stage at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $30.
Tullamore Dew will perform Sunday at Annie Bailey’s. There will also be an Irish Whiskey tasting and promotion.
Sunday join Kenor for a St. Patty’s Day Concert from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Roaring Brook Market is located at 155 East King Street.
Strut your stuff Sunday, 16 March in the 1st Annual Kiss Me I’m __-rish Pub Parade. This unique parade, which will be led by Lancaster City Police’s Mounted Units, will step off at 1:30 p.m. at POUR. About 3:30 p.m. the party will parade over to the Springhouse Taproom. At 5 p.m. the party joins in at Tellus360 before heading next door to Annie Bailey’s at 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by ThingsToDoLancasterPA.com and Roda Marketing.
Monday, 17 March
Brendee’s Irish Pub is serving up a waffle breakfast Monday beginning at 7 a.m. The proceeds are going to the Power Packs Project. Brendee’s is located at 449 West Lemon Street, at the corner of Lemon and Mary Street.
Many bars throughout the city are offering special discounts on Guinness, as well as other drinks. Check with you favorite watering hole to confirm their specials.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day enjoying the music of Corty Byron. He will be performing at Annie Bailey’s from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be Irish Bagpipe music.
Salt Hill will perform at the Lancaster Dispensing Company, 33 North Market Street, There is a $5 cover for the 8 p.m. show.

Ceili Rain and the Hooley Irish Dancers will perform at St. Anne Catholic School’s annual Shamrock Fest later this month. The Fest will be held 22 March at the Lancaster Marriott Penn Square. Tickets are $35 and the Fest begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, go to www.shamrockfest.org.
