Lancôme partners with Jason Wu for limited edition beauty collection

Beauty meets fashion. Lancôme is joining beauty forces with First Lady Michelle Obama’s favorite inaugural gown designer, Jason Wu to create a limited edition color cosmetics beauty line by September, according to a Feb. 1 WWD report.

“Beauty has always been extremely important to the Jason Wu label and I’ve made it an integral part of my fashion shows,” Wu said of the partnership. “What was so intriguing about partnering with Lancôme, beyond the unparalleled quality and luxury of their products, is the notion that the brand doesn’t impose a model of beauty but rather invites women to embrace themselves. This is the embodiment of a truly modern, sexy and confident woman, much like the women I design for.”

Silvia Galfo, senior vice president of marketing for Lancôme, stated that Wu’s sensibilities are in line with line up with Lancôme’s, adding that they “embody a modern, elegant and stylish woman directly in line with Lancôme’s brand equity.”

This partnership could be the first of many future cosmetic collections.
