Lamb Dem endorsement in Pittsburgh falling flat

Yesterday, City of Pittsburgh Controller Michael Lamb was celebrating the Pittsburgh Democratic Committee's endorsement of his candidacy for mayor. Today, the reality of his situation is setting in, along with the list of opponents he will face. Just a hint, it is never a good thing when there is any focus whatsoever on individuals that are opting out of a race.

It also isn't a good sign that Lamb's arguably strongest competition, Councilman Bill Peduto, was endorsed by labor today - specifically the United Steelworkers District 10, and the Pittsburgh chapter of the Steelworkers' Organization of Active Retirees. And since there is a wide field, an endorsement by Mayor Luke Ravenstahl isn't forthcoming - he stated Monday that he probably wouldn't weigh in with a handful or more candidates on the ballot.
