The Oakland Raiders could be making a huge mistake with Lamarr Houston. The defensive end has been eyeballed by the Green Bay Packers and that sounds like trouble. Houston is the best defensive lineman on the squad and should not be lost to another team.

On Monday morning, the NFL website reported that the Packers were showing interest in Houston from the Raiders. This was an interest in which the Packers are planning on getting more athletic and versatile defending linemen.

This could be a big mistake for the Raiders by letting Houston go to another team. General Manager Reggie McKenzie has the money to keep him. Why is he not doing it? Who knows?

So far, Lamarr Houston is most likely testing his price as a free agent. He ranks as one of the best defending free agents on the market, so why not?

See, Houston was outstanding with the Oakland Raiders last season. He had the best year as a lineman last year with 6 sacks, 13 assisted tackles, and 56 tackles. Houston led the Raiders with those stats. So, why let him go?

Now, the Raiders need to build the D-line around him. With all the positions that need to be fixed in the Oakland club team, why not keep a player that is already steady, especially with all the money the Raiders have to spend.

In the end, Lamarr Houston would benefit any team, but the Oakland Raiders have to avoid that and keep him on the squad. He’s the best defensive linemen on the team and needs to stay, period.
