It took a few days for the news to reach Los Angeles and the rest of the sports world for that matter, but it appears Lakers star forward Lamar Odom was a passenger involved in a serious car accident in New York last Thursday.
Reportedly, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year was in New York to film a Nike commercial and attend his cousin's funeral. The filming of the commercial took place at Lincoln Park this past Saturday, but the accident occured a few days earlier in Queens, New York. Despite the accident happening in his hometown in the Big Apple, Odom was felt out of sorts as he was reportedly "shaken up" by the accident.
Fortunately, the Lakers forward was uninjured in the accident, but the same cannot be said for the motorcyclist and the pedestrian involved as they are said to be seriously injured as a result.
Lamar Odom's wife and reality TV star Khloe Kardashian wasn't in the car during the accident.
Even though Lamar Odom is coming off arguably one of his best seasons in the NBA, the veteran forward hasn't had much luck as of late. Not only has Odom gone through a traumatic experience with this recent car accident, but the Los Angeles Lakers been actively exploring trades invovling their best bench player.
Hopefully, Lamar Odom and the other parties involved can recover this accident and get back to normal. There have been no updates as of yet about the status of the motorcyclist and pedestrian.
