Despite reports to the contrary, Lamar Odom has not checked himself in to rehab, sources connected to the NBA star tell TMZ on Thursday, Sept. 5. Several other media outlets are reporting today that the 33-year-old husband of Khloe Kardashian had checked into rehab, a demand Khloe apparently made more than once in recent weeks. TMZ's sources say Odom has "gone off the radar". None of the Kardashian clan have had any contact with him for the last few days. Even wife Khloe apparently hasn't heard from him.
In a story originally published Wednesday on People.com, sources told them that Lamar had in fact checked into rehab, though no name or location of the facility was given.
Odom was arrested last week for suspicion of DUI, when he was pulled over for driving too slowly on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
Lamar failed field sobriety tests, and then refused to submit to chemical testing at the police station. Odom's license was automatically revoked for a year.
Lamar Odom hired Robert Shapiro to represent him in his DUI case, a move that was supposedly done by Kardashian mom Kris Jenner, since the attorney has experience with drug addicted family members.
Reports accompanied the supposed rehab check in saying that Khloe Kardashian was "blindsided" by the news. Maybe that's because is simply isn't true.
Since Odom refused blood tests, authorities were not able to tell what substances he may have been under the influence of at the time of his DUI arrest.
