Lamar Odom, NBA superstar and reality star of the former show, "Khloe and Lamar” is having major problems. His marriage to Khloe Kardashian is rocky, and he has a drug problem. TMZ and Reality TV reports that Lamar’s drug problem goes back at least two years while he played for the Dallas Mavericks. Allegedly, this is why they cut him from the NBA basketball team during 2012's mid-season. Even though they kept him on the team, they listed him as inactive. When the season ended, they formally released him from the team. He still received a paycheck for the entire season even though he didn’t play.
HotBox Sports had this to say Lamar. "We’ll begin this report by stating the obvious, which is that Lamar Odom played in the NBA for the Clippers last season without incident and has not failed a league-mandated drug test since 2001."
Before Lamar played for the Dallas Mavericks, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. They traded him in the fall of 2011. The episode that lead to him being cut from the Dallas Mavericks, was when he stayed at the Westin Hotel in Memphis. Instead of playing with the team during a game, he stayed in a guest room. After Lamar left the hotel, the employees detected a strong noxious odor in the room. The carpeting had big burn holes in it, and there was white powder on the desk blotter. The carpeting was so bad that the hotel had to replace it.
According to TMZ, this isn’t the first hotel room that Lamar stayed in that ended up destroyed. It seems that his drug abuse went undetected by everyone. It's rumored that Lamar is addicted to smoking Oxycontin and cocaine.
When his wife Khloe tried to intervene with rehab, Lamar refused treatment. Khloe used tough love and kicked him out of the house. He was reported missing for three days, but has returned home.
