Lamar Odom quit the Spanish basketball team Laboral Kutxa after suffering a severe spine injury. According to Us magazine via Gossip Cop on March 15, the troubled athlete is afflicted with Lumbar Radiculitis, making it impossible for Odom to play at this time. Sadly, recovery for this particular problem could take up to two months.

Now back in the United States after his stint in Europe, Lamar has released a statement about the situation. He said, "This is something that is beyond my control. There’s a difference between a part of your body that’s hurt and a part of your body that’s injured."

Odom added, "It’s up to me as a responsible athlete to — if I’m injured — to take care of it. I think everything happens for a reason."

Lamar Odom has been with the Spanish basketball team called Laboral Kutxa for just a month. Apparently, his spine injury is keeping him away from the sport he loves and for which he excels -- for now.

Meanwhile, the team he signed with in Spain reportedly said that Lamar is welcome back after his recovery is complete. Get well soon, Lamar Odom.
