Lamar Odom has hired O.J. Simpson's former attorney Robert Shapiro to help defend him in his upcoming court case following his DUI arrest this past Friday according to Fox News reports on Tuesday, September 3.
As previously reported, Lamar Odom was arrested last weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence, after he was stopped by CHP for driving erratically on the 101 Freeway.
The 33-year-old NBA player was hauled in to the jail after failing field sobriety tests, and then refused all chemical testing once at the station. Odom has now lost all driving privileges for the next year under California law.
"He did the one thing you should never not do: refuse the chemical tests," California Highway Patrol Officer Leland Tang said.
Lamar Odom is scheduled to appear in court on September 27, but his recent arrest is really just the tip of the iceberg for Lamar Odom, who has been suffering from a slew of personal issues that began last April when two women came forward confessing to having affairs with the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian's husband.
The cheating scandal has also revealed that Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have been suffering from marital problems due to Odom's drug addictions to prescription medications.
E! News reported that news of Odom and Kardashian’s separation is false and the family is focused on “getting better.” Odom’s agent also told reporters that his client intends to continue his NBA career.
Do you believe Lamar Odom will get the help he needs, work his marital issues out with Khloe Kardashian and return to the NBA?
