News surrounding NBA professional basketball player Lamar Odom does not get better as time goes on. According to Reality TV World, on August 30, at 3:54 a.m., police arrested 33-year-old Lamar for driving under the influence. At 5:01 a.m., police booked him into the Van Nuys jail.
Police noticed a white Mercedes sports utility vehicle traveling eastbound on the 101 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard. According to the LA Times, the driver was driving in a "serpentine manner" at speeds of about 50 mph which is considered too slow for freeway traffic.
Police tried to pull him over, but Lamar didn’t stop. He drove past three exits before he finally noticed the police were following him. Lamar exited on the Coldwater Canyon Boulevard, pulling to a stop. The police reported that they could smell the strong scent of alcohol in Lamar's vehicle, so they gave him a series of sobriety tests. Unfortunately, Lamar failed them, so he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and maybe drugs. A police search of his vehicle didn't turn up any booze or drugs.
We will never know what, or if, Lamar had anything in his system because he refused to take a drug test. By refusing the chemical test, he automatically has his driver’s license revoked for one year. Bail was set at $15,000 and at 8:33 a.m., Lamar made bail and was free to leave. TMZ shows Khloe's assistant picked up Lamar's vehicle, but it is unknown whether Lamar left the jail yet.
It seems that Lamar’s luck may have run out. He was dropped from the NBA, he's addicted to smoking Oxycontin and cocaine/crack cocaine, was kicked out of the house by his wife Khloe Kardashian for refusing to take treatments for his problem, and Kris Jenner is secretly seeing lawyers to end his marriage and get him out of the Kardashian's lives. Add a DUI and a suspended driver’s license on top of all that and you have to wonder if he has hit the bottom yet or does he have further to fall? Is this what he needed to check into rehab and get his life straightened out?
