Lamar Odom has been found, if being arrested for allegedly Driving Under the Influence (DUI) can be considered "found." And like his going missing, the finding of the NBA star and reality show personality has made headlines in the worst way possible. According to the California Highway Patrol, Odom was driving in a "serpentine manner" when he was pulled over on Highway 101 early Friday morning.
The Associated Press reported (via Yahoo Sports) Aug. 30 that Odom was observed driving erratically just before 4 a.m. and failed to pull over for three exits. ''Mr. Odom showed objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests,'' a CHP report read.
After failing the field sobriety tests, he was taken to the nearest Los Angeles County police station for booking. There, he reportedly refused to allow the police to administer chemical tests.
He was held on $15,000 bond, then later released.
The DUI arrest was the cap to a week that started poorly for Odom. After a reported fight with his reality show star wife, Khloe Kardashian, he supposedly disappeared. With outlets like TMZ reporting that he was allegedly kicked out of the house and friends were in fear of his indulging in a crack cocaine binge (allegedly his "drug of choice"), the reports only stopped after a rep kept insisting that Odom wasn't missing. However, said rep would not disclose Odom's whereabouts and speculation continued.
As for Khloe Kardashian, she took to Twitter to voice her displeasure with the gossip websites and the speculation. She wrote: "Really hard to sit here and listen to people talk s--- about my family! F--- you and shame on you! I'm too protective for this s---!"
The speculation kind of faded, though, after his NBA agent, Peter Schwarz, told ESPN, "Lamar is not missing. His wife knows exactly where he is." A supposed sighting of Odom returning to the couple's mansion, as noted by Yahoo OMG, also cooled things down a bit. TMZ reported that Kardashian also met with Odom at an undisclosed location.
However, where the missing stories petered out, the troubled marriage and drug addiction stories remained. In fact, the reported fight where Odom was supposedly kicked out of his house was alleged to have been over his adverse reaction to a crack cocaine intervention.
And then: The DUI.
TMZ reported that nothing incriminating was found in Lamar Odom's impounded Mercedes SUV.
Odom, who is currently in free agency status with regard to his NBA career, is set to appear in court for the alleged DUI on September 27. Regardless, his failure to submit to chemical tests will result in a suspension of his driver's license for a year.
