Lamar Odom reportedly did check into rehab on Wednesday morning, seeking help for his drug addiction issues. Reports claim his wife Khloe Kardashian has given the 33-year-old NBA star an ultimatum to seek professional help, or their marriage is over. However, Lamar's rehab stint was short lived, as he checked out Thursday Afternoon, according to People on Sept. 6. Khloe hasn't given any public statements on her husband's situation, but she has still been seen in public wearing her wedding ring.
Lamar's drug habit allegedly spiraled out of control when he moved out of his Calabasas home he shared with Khloe Kardashian. Odom moved into Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel with a friend in late May as soon as the NBA season ended, according to TMZ Sports.
Insiders say the hotel room was used like a "flop house", with Lamar surrounded by several drug abusers at all times, including strangers. People were going in and out of the room around the clock for months straight.
According to those sources, Odom was blowing an average of $800 per day, and sometimes even more, on multiple drugs that included crack.
Odom was arrested last week for DUI, when he was pulled over for driving too slowly and in a "serpentine" manner on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
Lamar first failed field sobriety tests, and then refused to submit to blood tests at the police station. Odom's license was automatically revoked for a year.
Lamar Odom just hired O.J. lawyer Robert Shapiro to represent him in his DUI case, a deal that was supposedly brokered by Kardashian mom Kris Jenner, since Shapiro has personal experience with drug addicted family members.
Reports accompanying Lamar's rehab check-in say that Khloe Kardashian was blindsided by the news.
