A couple of weeks ago, I (along with Micaela and Dannika Shambee of Fashion Plus 3) had the privilege of being a Fit Model for a wonderful clothing store that is set to launch a new line of clothing for full-figured women! The store is called vfish, and the new full-figured line features contemporary dresses in fresh, vibrant colors for every occasion! I recently chatted with VFish Co-Founder Mandy Moise to learn more about how the full-figured line came to fruition. Read on for all the wonderful details!
NY: How long has vfish Designs been in business?
MM: Vfish has been in business for 4 years. We are our own manufacturer. We design and produce all the garments/prints in Chicago at our Lakeview Studio/flagship. We are not a multi- brand boutique. Vfish is a designer line of Women’s clothing.
NY: Awesome! We are SO excited to hear of your upcoming extended sizes line! What was the motivation for you to launch this line?
MM: The motivation came from a partnership with Ideeli.com. We were super excited and totally on board with it! They approached us about doing some more sizes for an exclusive collection just for their site! We were over the moon excited about it! Many designers would have opted to create different styles for these sizes, but I felt my dresses should be for ANY size woman, and I wanted these women to have access to what my most current collections are at the time. So, together with Ideeli buyers, we selected the abbreviated collection that would be offered up to size 24.
NY: Besides awesome clothes, what else do you sell at vfish?
MM: We put together fabulous collections of jewelry, and accessories as well.
NY: You mentioned that you have your flagship store located at 2937 N. Clark Street. Where else can people purchase vfish Designs?
VF: www.vfishdesigns.com as well as 500+ boutiques nationwide! Our site has a store finder.
NY: When can we expect to see the rollout of the new full-figured clothes?
VF: Right now the launch on Ideeli.com is TBD, but sometime in February for sure!!

Chicago Plus-Size Fashion Examiner will definitely keep you posted when the line drops! Curvy ladies, let's be sure to support the line 100%! It's rare that you find designers/boutiques that realize the need for awesome plus-size clothing options for their customers and decide to do something about it! The line will be "abbreviated" at first, but I'm sure that if it receives overwhelming support, it will be expanded in the future, so spread the word:-)!
