Lakeshore Express Airlines announced yesterday they will increase their service between Oakland County’s International Airport and Chicago’s Midway Airport beginning November 1. The new schedule includes two flights each Thursday and Friday allowing passengers to go to Chicago in the morning and return later in the same day.
Lakeshore Express is not a typical commercial airline. It uses a simple airfare policy with each way costing $99 to $149 depending on departure time. They do not have add-on fees like the major airlines. But that is not what is most loved by Lakeshore’s customers. Because the airline uses executive airline terminals, typically reserved for the one-percenters, passengers do not have to go through security checkpoints. However if a passenger is connecting to another flight in Chicago they will need to clear security there. Lakeshore makes that easy with special lanes at the main airport.
Lakeshore uses Midway in Chicago as a hub. They serve just four cities: Green Bay, Wis., Chicago, Pellston, Mich., and Oakland County.
