One of the most active teams before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 20 will likely be the Los Angeles Lakers. As usual, the Lakers trade rumors have kicked into high gear with only days left before the deadline with Steve Blake being the latest players mentioned in a potential deal according to Sam Amick of USA Today on Feb. 17. Amick made an appearance on a Bay Area radio show, 95.7 the Game, and believes Blake could be headed to the Golden State Warriors via Mark Kreidler:

Longtime friend of the show @sam_amick of USA Today throws out Steve Blake as one name #Warriors might grab at trade deadline. Speculating.

Blake wasn't the only player to be mentioned in Lakers trade rumors on Monday with Jordan Hill also involved in a potential deal. Hill may be shipped to the Brooklyn Nets in a salary dump much like Blake would be if dealt to the Warriors before the deadline.

With the Lakers basically out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference this season, the team's front office appears to be looking toward the future rather than the present. GM Mitch Kupchak and company will be looking to avoid being hit by the repeater tax while also acquiring draft picks in any trade made before Feb. 20.

Another player that could be on the traded before the deadline is Pau Gasol. As the one player that mentioned in Lakers trade rumors on an annual basis, the time may have finally come for the Lakers to trade Gasol before he can walk in free agency this summer.
