Things are starting to get crazy in Los Angeles as the talks of a blockbuster trade for Chris Paul have begun to heat up with the Lakers reportedly offering forwards Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom for the perennial All-Star point guard. The first deal that was supposedly on the table was Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom for Chris Paul, but now that offer has changed with the Lakers keeping Bynum and adding Gasol to the deal with Odom.
If this proposed trade does go down, the Lakers will take one step closer to building the next “Big Three” in the NBA. Giving up the team’s second leading scorer in Gasol and the team’s best bench player in Odom is a risk to say the least, but if the Lakers can pull off a trade for Dwight Howard after this blockbuster, Los Angeles will almost certainly become the cream of the crop in the NBA once again!
Along with offering Andrew Bynum with Lamar Odom in a package for Chris Paul, the Lakers also talked about a potential three-team deal including the Houston Rockets on Thursday with Pau Gasol heading to Houston and Chirs Paul heading to Los Angeles. That deal could still be on as a part of this trade, so stay tuned!
