The injury problems continue to get worse for the Los Angeles Lakers with Nick Young going down with a knee injury on Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After undergoing an MRI following the win over the Cavs, Young was diagnosed with a non-displaced left knee fracture and a bone bruise on Feb. 6 according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN:
The Lakers announce Nick Young is out a minimum of two weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the patella in his L knee and a bone bruise.
Along with Young now being on the shelf for the next two weeks, Jodie Meeks is also out due to an ankle sprain. Meeks will miss the rest of the road trip while Young could be out for a considerable amount of time due to the fact that he'll be re-evaluated in two weeks rather than returning to the floor.
Losing Young for two weeks or more is a major blow for this team that coming off their first win in eight games. Young has been one of the best players on the current squad for the Lakers averaging a team-high 16.9 points per game.
With Young on the shelf, the Lakers currently have Meeks, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol all out with injuries.
Needless to say, things aren't getting much easier for this team that simply can't stay healthy this season.
