The Los Angeles Lakers will look drastically different heading into next season with a lot of players coming and going. As a result of losing Dwight Howard, Earl Clark and Metta World Peace in the off-season for different reasons, the Lakers’ front office has been stockpiling players for training camp with center Dan Gadzuric being the latest addition according to Arash Markazi of ESPNLosAngeles.com on Sept. 27:
The Los Angeles Lakers signed center Dan Gadzuric, the team announced Friday.
Along with adding Gadzuric on Friday, the Lakers have also brought in a number of different players looking for an NBA gig. The Lakers decided to bring back Darius Johnson-Odom while also signing Eric Boateng to the training camp roster.
Other players also set to battle it out for a roster spot during training camp with the Lakers will be Shawne Williams, Marcus Landry, Elias Harris, Xavier Henry and Ryan Kelly.
At this point in time, the Lakers currently have 19 players on the training camp roster with at least four of the 19 destine to be sent packing before the start of the season. Gadzuric will be one of the players on the bubble in terms of attempting to play his way onto the roster.
Gadzuric is no stranger to Los Angeles with the veteran center making an impression on NBA scouts during his playing days with UCLA. The NBA journeyman has bounced around quite a bit since being drafted out of UCLA in 2002 by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Gadzuric has played for the Golden State Warriors, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks as well as teams in China and Venezuela.
