Lakers News: Magic Johnson says Kobe Bryant should try to come back next season

NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson has been fairly critical of the Los Angeles Lakers as of late. Magic has no problem expressing his opinion about the storied franchise he led to five NBA titles during his playing days, but has been advised to dial it back recently. On Mon. Feb. 3, Magic appeared on Arsenio and talked about Kobe Bryant's return.

The former face of the Lakers franchise and current owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers believes Bryant should sit out the rest of the season in order to get 100 percent healthy for the 2014-15 campaign. Magic believes this season is lost and for good reason with the team currently sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

Although many Lakers fans would disagree, Bryant sitting out the rest of the season isn't a terrible proposition. Bryant wants to get back on the floor as soon as possible with so much missed time due to the Achilles tear and the fractured knee, but it's hard to see if he'd do anything to help the team at this point in time.

Despite Magic making a good point about the season being lost and Bryant potentially not benefiting from returning to the floor as soon as possible, the perennial All-Star will continues to battle through the injuries in an effort to return.

At this point in time, Bryant return date is up in the air with the superstar potentially getting back on the floor in March.
