Seasons of Legend. Lakers announce Kobe's return.
The speculation has run rampant surrounding Bryant’s return for the past month or so. Most believed Bryant may have been ultimately targeting the Christmas Day showdown with the Miami Heat due to subtle hints, but he’s made considerable progress in practice over the last few weeks making resulting in a return much sooner than anticipated.
Although the matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Friday was thought to initially be the return date after multiple reports of that being the case, Bryant needed a few more days in Los Angeles to prepare for his debut.
With Bryant announcing his return against the Raptors, the Lakers will be heading into another direction as the team attempts to build chemistry with the five-time NBA champion in the mix.
With the squad filled with new faces like Wes Johnson, Xavier Henry and Nick Young, the chemistry might take a hit with Bryant back on the floor. Although that may be the case, the team is without a doubt better with Bryant than without him and may take a step closer to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the West as a result.
