The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Houston Rockets tomorrow night at STAPLES Center starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Los Angeles Lakers (18-35) are looking to rebound with a win at STAPLES Center after suffering seven consecutive losses at home. The Lakers have been struggling on the floor as five of their top six scorers have been injured as of last week. Both Pau Gasol and Steve Nash hope to return to the court on Wednesday night when the Lakers look for their first home victory since January 3.

Lakers center Chris Kaman has stepped up averaging 23.7 points and 11.3 rebounds, accumulating double-doubles in the past three games since taking over for the injured Gasol.

Regarding the future, Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni stated, “It’s been a crazy year, and there will still be some turbulence ahead. But I think during these next 29 games, we will get honed in and try to get better. The thing I hope is that with all the effort, they get rewarded for it.”

Meanwhile the Rockets (36-17) have won seven straight games and are looking to grab another win as they begin their five game road trip tomorrow tonight. The Rockets are led by All-Star James Harden, who started in place of the injured Kobe Bryant in this past Sunday’s All-Star Game. Houston center Dwight Howard returns to STAPLES Center for the first time this season after a rocky year with the Lakers last season.

Both teams met twice in Houston earlier this season with the Lakers and Rockets each pulling off a victory. In those two games, Harden has averaged a whopping 36.5 points per game against the Lakers and shows no signs of slowing down. The Rockets are currently in third place of the Western Conference standings and look to pull away from the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers who are in fourth and fifth place respectively.
