After working extremely hard to get back to form in the NBA off-season, it didn't take long for two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash to be back on the shelf for the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Nash has missed the majority of the season, the veteran point guard might return as early as next week according to Janis Carr of OC Register on Jan. 28:
Nash also said that he isnt playing Fri vs. Char "I havent practiced in 2 1/2 months" Thinks Tuesday might be a possibility.
Nash and Kobe Bryant have only played six games during the 2013-14 NBA season. Although Bryant will miss at least another three weeks with his knee injury, Nash getting back in the lineup would definitely help this team get back on track.
As of right now, the Lakers are tied for last place in the Western Conference with the Sacramento Kings. Hope for a playoff berth in the West is quickly disappearing and may become a virtual impossibility in the coming weeks.
With Nash, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry on the shelf, newcomer Kendall Marshall has been able to shoulder the load in the backcourt as the starting point guard. Marshall may be playing well since being signed by the team back in December, but it hasn't has been enough to turn things around for this struggling franchise.
