It is official, Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum has a bone bruise on his right knee and the injury is not considered to be serious. After an MRI on his injured right knee on Wednesday afternoon, the results determined that his injury was minor and would only keep him out of Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings.
This is great news for the Lakers as they will have their up-and-coming center will be ready to play this weekend in their opening game of the first round of the playoffs. The Lakers' opponent for the first round of the playoffs is still uncertain, but at least they know they will continue to have the most intimidating frontcourt in the league moving forward.
Even though the Lakers have determined that Andrew Bynum's knee injury isn't as serious as once thought, Phil Jackson and company will probably take it easy with their starting center by either having him come off the bench or limiting his minutes in the first round. With that being said, Lamar Odom could be back in the starting lineup to get the playoffs underway as the Lakers attempt to pull off the three-peat.
Needless to say, Lakers fans can now take a sigh of relief as the two-time defending champs still have a legitimate shot of defending their title.
