Following a dusting of snow on Monday evening, a snow storm is expected to dump more than a foot of snow by Wednesday morning in the Lake Tahoe region.
After a dry spell that lasted throughout much of January and ran into this month, the Lake Tahoe ski resorts should be receiving sizable snow amounts.
According to the National Weather Service, there should be 6-10 inches of snow above 7,000 feet today and 3-4 inches more tonight. Wednesday should be a great powder day for skiing and snowboarding at Lake Tahoe ski resorts.
There will be a dramatic drop in temperatures this week as well. Temperatures starting today are expected to be in the high-20s to mid-30s and dropping into single digits at night.
Temperatures will likely stay in that range until warming up by the weekend into the low 40s during the day.
