Lake Tahoe ski report: Tahoe ski resorts received up to 2 1/2 feet of snow (Photos)

Storm totals that added 20-29 inches of fresh snow make this one of the best ski weekends in several months at Lake Tahoe ski resorts.

Not only is there an abundance of snow this weekend for skiing and snowboarding, the weather is Tahoe beautiful with sunny skis and gorgeous views of beautiful Lake Tahoe.

The snow began Tuesday evening and dropped up to 2½ feet at some Lake Tahoe ski resorts. Several resorts got a little more snow on Friday with Kirkwood Mountain Resort reporting 4 inches, Sierra-at-Tahoe getting 2 inches, and several other resorts receiving a dusting of snow.

The weather should be clear and sunny this weekend with temperatures rising into the low 40s today and likely climbing into the low 50s by Sunday.

In you're looking for an added attraction this weekend, head to Sugar Bowl ski resort.

The Rahlves’ Banzai Tour, which began in early February at Kirkwood Mountain Resort and had subsequent weekend races at Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, will be at Sugar Bowl today and Sunday. The exciting finals are Sunday afternoon and the winner of the four-man race wins $5,000.
