Although the rain arrived throughout much of Northern California on Saturday evening, there was little accumulation in the Lake Tahoe region where mostly just a dusting of snow occurred.
However, that may change today where up to 6 inches could arrive at elevation 7,000 and above in the Lake Tahoe area, according to the National Weather Service. The snowfall is expected to subside this evening, but will leave some powder skiing and snowboarding for Monday morning.
It’s snowing this morning at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe and also at other area ski resorts like Sierra-at-Tahoe, which received 3 inches of snow overnight.
It’s unlikely there will be much snow early in the week, but there is a 50-percent chance of snow Thursday.
The signature Tahoe bluebird days that were prevalent last week aren’t gone, but the sun won’t be out and beaming all day.
Temperatures are on the rise beginning Monday in the Lake Tahoe region. According to The Weather Channel, the temperatures should be in the low 40s during the daytime and drop to the mid-20s in the evening through Wednesday.
Below is the National Weather Service forecast for today through Tuesday for the Lake Tahoe region.
