Snow will likely return this evening in the Lake Tahoe region. But don’t expect a lot; this is not a major storm.
When Sunday morning arrives, skiers and snowboarders can anticipate as much as 6 inches of fresh snow at many of Lake Tahoe’s ski resorts. And the snow may continue. The Weather Channel is forecasting a 60-percent chance of snow on Sunday.
The snow is likely to begin today in late afternoon. There is a 30-percent chance of snow today, followed by a 10-percent chance on Monday and a zero chance on Tuesday.
The signature Tahoe bluebird days aren’t gone, but the sun won’t be out and beaming all day. Morning temperatures were cold today in the Lake Tahoe region, but could rise to the low 40s by the afternoon

Today: Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Patchy freezing fog in the morning. Temperature highs 39 to 44. Light winds becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Chance of snow in the evening ... then snow likely after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches. Temperature lows 17 to 27. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the evening. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph.
Sunday: Snow. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches ... with 2 to 5 inches above 7000 feet. Temperature highs 26 to 31. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 60 mph in the morning.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Temperature lows 13 to 23. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the evening. Ridge gusts up to 70 mph.
