Snow is anticipated today in the Sierra. The snow will likely start late in the afternoon and continue overnight at Lake Tahoe ski resorts.
There was no snow on Tuesday, but by Thursday morning the totals could be up to 4 inches or more at many Tahoe ski resorts. This is no automatic storm. The Weather Channel is forecasting 50 percent chance of snow today.
The chance of snow dips to 30 percent on Thursday, 10 percent on Friday and zero percent for the weekend.
The dramatic change in the Lake Tahoe region should be temperatures. The daytime highs beginning Thursday will likely stay in the mid-20 range during the day and it will dip to near zero degrees in the evening. According to the National Weather Service, that trend will last through the weekend.
