Lake Tahoe Ski Report: Homewood gets 10 inches of snow; more snow this morning (Photos)

Although lighter amounts than the previous day, more snow arrived for Lake Tahoe ski resorts on Thursday.

For the second straight day, Homewood Mountain Resort was reporting 8-10 inches of fresh snow, making for another mild powder day at the ski resort that resides just off the lake on Tahoe’s west side.

Both Boreal and Soda Springs ski resort reported 7 inches of snow on Thursday, while Heavenly Mountain Resort had 6 inches and Squaw Valley was reporting 5 inches.

The cold weather and light snow should continue this morning at several of Tahoe’s ski resorts. Tahoe-area residents woke up to near zero-degree weather this morning when the temperatures are expected to only reach the mid-20s.

The Weather Channel is forecasting a 10-percent chance of snow today and Saturday, followed by 30-percent chance on Sunday. The weekend forecast is mostly sunny. The cold-weather pattern will continue into Monday.

Below is the National Weather Service forecast for today through Sunday for the Lake Tahoe region.
