The temperatures have finally gotten out of the “minus” category in the Lake Tahoe region. It was still cold this morning in Tahoe – around 8 degrees – but the area is definitely warming.
The temperature is rising, but the snow totals won’t be, according to The Weather Channel, which is forecasting zero-percent change of snow through next Monday.
- That means no new snow for skiing and snowboarding over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. But that forecast also brings sunny days and no driving hassles getting to Lake Tahoe ski resorts.
The mornings will remain cold this week, ranging from 1-12 degrees through Thursday. However, the daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 30s today, and on Wednesday probably getting into the low 40s. The daytime temperatures should remain in the low-to-mid 40s through Monday.

Today: Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming sunny. Temperature highs 33 to 38. Northeast winds up to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph decreasing to 50 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Clear. Temperature lows 1 to 11. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 50 mph in the evening.
Wednesday: Sunny. Temperature highs 33 to 43. East winds around 10 mph.
