Fresh snow is great advertising for Lake Tahoe ski resorts. And that advertising campaign is expected to start this afternoon (Feb. 7) when snow begins in the Sierra.
The storm won’t be massive, but several weather outlets are predicting up to 7-10 inches when the snow halts sometime Friday. According to the Weather Channel, there is a 60-percent chance of snow both today and Friday, followed by a 10-percent chance on Saturday,
Expect cooler temperatures starting today in Lake Tahoe and Truckee. The highs most likely be in the upper 30s in the daytime and drop into single digits at night. The temperatures are expected to remain that way through the weekend.

Today: Mostly cloudy this morning. Snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches. Temperature highs 31 to 41. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Ridge gusts up to 75 mph.
Tonight: Snow showers. Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Temperature lows 10 to 15. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 50 mph.
Friday: Scattered snow showers in the morning ... then snow showers in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Temperature highs 23 to 28. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. Chance of snow showers in the evening … then slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Temperature lows 5 to 15. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. Temperature highs 28 to 33. Northeast winds up to 10 mph.
