The snow dance is being performed right now in the Lake Tahoe region. And this superstitious practice just might help.
A storm should hit Northern California this evening (Feb. 6) and could provide a fresh coat of snow in the Lake Tahoe region. There is a 50-percent chance of snow on Thursday when the snow level may go as low as 3,000 feet.
The snow should continue into Friday when the chance of snow drops to 70 percent, according to the Weather Channel. The storm is not expected to be a major one.
The cooler temperatures will remain this weekend, but the snow won’t. The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny weather through the weekend when it’s forecasting a zero-percent chance of snow.
Temperatures will be dropping dramatically by Thursday, dipping between the mid-to-high 30s in the daytime and into the teens in the evening.
The Weather Channel is calling for partly sunny today in the Lake Tahoe region where temperatures should be in the mid-40s in Truckee.
Below is the National Weather Service forecast for today through Friday for the greater Lake Tahoe region.
